Golden City Pipe Band (Bendigo)

The Golden City Pipe Band (Bendigo) has remained a driving force in promoting Scottish Culture both in Bendigo and District and throughout the State.  As Bendigo’s only competition band (competing throughout Australia/New Zealand), we continue to build on the name of Bendigo amongst the other Bands in Australia and overseas, with several of our players invited to attend the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and other Bands in Australia and overseas.

Founded in 1951, the band has a long history of community involvement - attending parades in Bendigo and Eaglehawk, performing at the Swan Hill Show, being a regular in Bendigo’s ANZAC Day’s dawn service as well as appearing at Elmore and Rochester ANZAC parades, and also members assisting in Castlemaine, Kangaroo Flat and Wedderburn, and with appearances at Australia Day, The Red Ribbon Rebellion march, Relay for Life and other such community events.

The band provides free tuition to anyone who wishes to learn the Bagpipes or Drums.

Our members also provide bagpipe services at Weddings, Funerals, Birthday parties and other events across the Central and Northern districts.
