We are a non for profit organisation that has hosted Midstate Mopars for 16 years. Every year we donate all profits to local charities/organisations.
Held over the King’s Birthday long weekend in Bendigo, Midstate Mopars is a celebration of all things Mopar. Presented by the Central Victorian Chrysler Club Inc., Midstate Mopars welcomes all types of Chrysler vehicles made in Australia, the US and Europe, as well as related Plymouth, Dodge, Imperial and DeSoto marques. Mopar-powered marques and those with a Mopar connection, like AMC/Rambler, French Simcas and Centuras, English Hillmans and Japanese Galants, are also welcome.
Now in its 17th year, Midstate Mopars is the second largest gathering of Chrysler vehicles in the Southern Hemisphere. Sponsored by local Bendigo businesses, as well as state and national companies, Midstate Mopars is supported by the Bendigo community and gives back to that community, with funds raised at the event donated to organisations throughout the region.
Midstate Mopars is a two-day event, which this year will be on 8 and 9 June. The first day is devoted to a cruise for Mopar owners and the second to a Show and Shine in Bendigo’s Town Hall precinct, where streets are blocked off to allow hundreds of Chrysler vehicles to go on display.
Saturday Cruise – 8 June
Sponsored by Clark Metal Roofing, this year’s Saturday cruise leaves the Lake Weeroona Rowing Club carpark at 1:00PM for a run of approximately half an hour to Maldon, where participants can explore the Maldon Vintage Machinery and Museum. A “flywheelers heaven,” the museum ($5 entry) features static and working exhibits that show how Australians lived and worked more than a century ago in the fields of agriculture, mining and manufacturing.
Since opening in 2006, the museum has evolved into an incredible display of history, covering many eras, with most of the exhibits and working machinery sourced from in and around Maldon.
The cruise’s return route to Bendigo will also take approximately half an hour, after which, entrants are invited to gather at the All Seasons Bendigo that evening (6:00PM approx.) for dinner and a live band.
The cruise covers approximately 100km in total, so won’t tax older Mopar vehicles.
Sunday Show ‘n’ Shine – 9 June
The Sunday Show ‘n Shine takes over several streets in central Bendigo around the Town Hall. More than 300 cars, utes and other commercial vehicles will be on display for thousands of spectators to enjoy and admire. Entry to the Show ‘n’ Shine is $35 per vehicle (pre-pay or on the day), with a goodie bag for the first 300 entrants. Spectator entry is free.
Show ‘n’ Shine opens at 8:00AM for entrants, with non-pro judging commencing at 10:00AM and trophy presentation at 2:00PM. Judging covers multiple subcategories for US and Aussie Chryslers (Charger, AP5/6, CL/CM, B Body, E Body, etc.), with other categories including pre-1948, commercial vehicles, wagon, competition car, unrestored, councillor’s choice and more.
A Swap Meet in the same precinct as the Show ‘n’ Shine will see multiple stallholders offering all manner of spare parts, Mopar-themed collectables, memorabilia, man cave decorations and more.
With local food vendors on site cooking up a storm and coffee vans frothing up the milk, there’ll be no shortage of fuel for your exploration of the all the Show ‘n’ Shine’s attractions.
If you’re after event merchandise, the Central Victorian Chrysler Club will offer an assortment from their tent, along with raffle tickets to win a nice selection of prizes kindly donated by local businesses.
