Eaglehawk Film Festival - Alive and Kicking (1958, G)

Film festival

An annual film festival with a difference – each year curated around a unique theme... 2025 is Alive!

About Event

What does it mean to be alive? Not dead, yes. But so much more, especially when it is placed in the hands of filmmakers from around the globe, each bringing their nuances and cultural themes. It is a universal theme that can be applied to many experiences as part of our human condition.

This year, see what these international storytellers have done to bring the big screen ALIVE at Star Cinema!

Alive and Kicking (1958, G)

Three elderly ladies tire of living in an old people’s home and when they hear that they are about to be separated, they make a bid for freedom. They escape to an island off the Irish coast and are about to occupy a group of cottages when the owner, an Irish millionaire, just returned from making his fortune in America, appears on the scene.

Film debut of Richard Harris. ‘Whisky and fun galore on Irish island!’
