Providing quality homemade knitted, crocheted and sewn items to local charity groups who work with members of the community in need of assistance.
Bendigo Needles and Threads Program is a not-for-profit community group who assist charities by providing quality homemade knitted, crocheted or sewn items of clothing, rugs, blankets, toys and much more.
The group meets fortnightly from 9.30am - 11am to exchange and discuss information including, the community groups needs for donations of hand crafted items and to share ideas, update patterns and view work completed by members during the previous fortnight.
The homemade items are sorted and donated to various community organisations who provide details of their ongoing or specific need. Our groups change from time to time depending on need.
Volunteers are expected to generally provide their own materials and yarns unless we receive donated goods or have funds to purchase materials and yarns.
Bendigo Needles and Threads members/volunteers also enjoy companionship, friendship and enjoy a coffee and morning tea at meetings.
Currently meetings are held in the St Mary's Anglican Church Hall in Kangaroo Flat. There is ample parking at the rear of the address in Church Street.
