Good Governance for not-for-profit organisations

Whether you’re a new board member or you’ve been doing it for a while, there is always more to learn about your legal responsibilities. What does it mean to be a board member? What are your key responsibilities? What are you liable for and where can you turn if things go wrong? If you want to know more about governing a not-for-profit organisation, this in-depth 3-hour training session is for you.

You'll learn about:

  • Legal roles of committee/board members as decision makers
  • Differences between governance and management
  • Legal structure and status of your organisation
  • Importance of rules and legal purpose or objects
  • Four key legal duties of committee/board members
  • Potential liabilities, protecting yourself and your organisation
  • Other relevant laws and additional resources

This 3 hour workshop will be facilitated by a Justice Connect- Not for profit  lawyer who specialise in charity and not-for-profit
